A poster war erupted between the DMK and the BJP in Chennai ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate the 44th Chess Olympiad on Thursday, with the marquee event being hosted by India for the first time. The Tamil Nadu BJP had alleged that the state government and CM Stalin were trying to hijack the Chess Olympiad competition and had intentionally ignored PM Modi’s picture in the advertisement. They decided to post PM Modi’s picture on an advertisement hoarding kept by the Tamil Nadu government. In retaliation, the DMK workers allegedly ‘blackened’ the posters. Watch the full report here.
